Effective therapy

grounded in clarity and compassion

starts here.

Do you feel like no matter how hard you try, you aren’t good enough? Are you struggling to break the loop of persistent worrying that only serves to worsen your stress? Have you been told that you’re too hard on yourself, that you’re your own worst critic? If you’re wanting to gain support in making meaningful change in how you live life and your relationships both with yourself and others, I could be the therapist for you.

Let me introduce myself: I’m Melissa, and I work with women and college-age folks of all backgrounds that struggle with these issues and more. I have over ten years’ experience working with anxiety, adult ADHD, bipolar disorder, grief, and life changes.

Central to my work is my relationship-centered approach, meaning our therapeutic relationship of trust, compassion, non-judgment, and exploration are paramount to the changes and improvements you want to see in your life. Additionally, I use evidence-based tools (meaning research shows they work!) to augment our work together and help you cope with difficult, tumultuous emotions, strengthen your relationships, and cultivate a more confident and compassionate sense of self. You don’t have to do this alone. I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges, opportunities, and changes to help you find more joy along the way.

HOW I APPROACH THERAPY

Being a relationship-centered therapist means that to me, in order for deep change to start and last, it has to begin with you feeling seen, understood, and safe. These facets come naturally to me as well as humor, empathy, curiosity, as well as dedication and an enthusiasm in helping others.

As we explore your experiences, values, and relationships I will continuously integrate practices, tools, and skills proven to work. We will discuss these things collaboratively and weave them into your daily life to best suit your experiences and needs.
